NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police have charged a second suspect in a rape that occurred during a home-invasion robbery.

Twenty-eight-year-old Kumar Lloyd stood before Magistrate Samuel McKinney on Tuesday facing charges of rape, armed robbery and burglary.

Last month, Lloyd’s co-accused Dennis Ingraham was accused of abetting the offenses.
Prosecutors say Lloyd and two others, while armed with handguns, broke into a home on Marshall Road around 5am on January 8 and robbed a man and his 33-year-old wife of cellphones, jewelry and cash. During the robbery, the men tied up the man and one of them raped his wife.

Lloyd wasn’t required to enter pleas to the charges and was denied bail.He returns to court on March 3 when it’s expected that he will receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
