NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The country has had great success with the senior men’s national basketball team but what’s the likelihood of us doing the same on the women’s side.

I put the question to Bahamas Basketball Federation President Eugene Horton.

Back in November, Ole Miss Coach and Grand Bahamian Yolett Mcphee-McCuin spoke about that coaching job.

She says a women’s national team can be the order of the day.

And BBF First Vice President Moses Johnson says the talent is there.

NBA

In a 120 to 104 win over the Chicago Bulls, Buddy Hield showed out.

The Grand Bahama native had 19 points and six boards coming off the bench for the Indiana Pacers. He also had two assists.

In one of the late games, DeAndre Ayton’s Portland Trailblazers lost to San Antonio 105 to 118. Ayton didn’t play as he is dealing with tendinitis in his right knee.
