COLOMBIA- A small plane crash Monday in a neighborhood in the central Colombian city of Medellin killing eight people.

There were no reports of injuries on the ground. The aircraft crashed after take-off.

The victims on board the twin-engine Piper Pa-31 include six passengers and two crew.

The exact cause of the crash has yet to be determined, even though eyewitness reports say the pilot was unable to keep the nose of the plane aloft.

Seven homes were destroyed and six other buildings damaged.
