NASSAU, BAHAMAS – We may be deep in winter, but the choices we make now for the environment could have an influence on the climate of the future. In tonight’s edition of Sustainability First, Our Marlena Leonard takes a look at how Bahamas First makes sure they do their part to keep things green.

Hurricane season may be over, but the push for a more sustainable future lasts year round. At Bahamas First General Insurance company, their CEO, Richard Darville, says the company wanted to encourage by example when asked about the motivation behind their sustainability month.

During their sustainability month in November, they observed eco-friendly measures like can drives, working from home or carpooling to reduce use of vehicles, and school cleanups.

Bahamas First also donated ten thousand dollars to the Bahamas National Trust on what they called Green Friday. The executive tells us it’s all an effort to show that every bit of effort counts in the fight for sustainability.
