He is the only Bahamian to go under the 50-second mark in the event and also holds the national record in the 50m freestyle.

Also competing in the 100m freestyle, Marvin Johnson swam 50.99 seconds in the heats and finished sixth in the ‘B’ final with 51.14 seconds.

In the women’s race, Zoe Williamson set a personal best of 58.83 seconds to finish fifth in the ‘B’ final (17th overall), while Elyse Wood finished 19th overall in 59.63 seconds.

In the 200m breaststroke, Emmanuel Gadson placed eighth in the ‘A’ final with 2:19.62, and Nigel Forbes finished eighth in the men’s 100m backstroke ‘B’ final in 59.73 seconds.

The mixed 4x100m medley relay team, Forbes (backstroke), Gadson (breaststroke), Wood (butterfly), and Williamson (freestyle), finished 12th overall in 4:08.51.

In archery, Leron Rolle earned a spot at the World Archery Youth Championships, August 17–24 in Winnipeg, Canada.

Jones’ Double-Double Powers Liberty Win

A dominant performance from Finals MVP Jonquel Jones helped the New York Liberty defeat the LA Sparks 105–97 on the road. Jones recorded 21 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks, her ninth double-double of the season in just 20 games.

Returning from an eight-game absence due to an ankle injury, Jones has averaged 16.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.1 blocks, shooting 45.2% from the field and 40% from three-point range.

The Liberty continue their road trip tonight in Las Vegas before heading to Minnesota on August 16.
