U.S.A. – Bahamians living in the Sunshine State are breathing a sigh of relief after making it through one of the most powerful storms of the season.

Earlier this week I spoke with Romeika Adderley, she and her family decided to ride out the storm.

The Adderleys also pastor a church in Tampa.

The Tampa transplant, who has experienced storms here in The Bahamas, couldn’t help but compare the two experiences.

“I’ve experienced hurricanes both here and at home in The Bahamas, and they’re all very different, uh, it’s just the emotional roller coaster, uh, because the, uh, we did what we needed to do as far as locking down, boarding up, um, preparing ourselves as we would do if we were home, um, i think that the emotional rollercoaster is the same,” Romeika Adderley said.

And as for the way forward, Adderley said her family will connect with the community.
