GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – They are dedicated volunteers committed to saving the lives of distressed airmen and seamen.

The Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association better known as BASRA is one of the key agencies responsible for countless rescue and recovery efforts.

Vice President of BASRA Northern Bahamas and Search and Rescue Coordinator, Captain D’von Archer says for boaters, having the necessary equipment on board can mean all the difference when in distress.

If you encounter an emergency scene and wish to help, he says having first aid training is a plus, which is why he IS encouraging all boaters to become members of BASRA.

With big goals to expand their operations, the search and rescue organization will need all the donations and volunteers they can get.
