GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – A former policeman and politician is now turning his attention to writing. Tonight, he shares the inspiration behind his latest book and why he believes it will have a lasting impact on the country. Italia Hall reports.

Former Free National Movement candidate for the Pineridge Constituency in Grand Bahama and retired policeman, Welbourne Bootle, has shifted his focus to writing.

In an exclusive interview, Bootle introduced his new book, “Til The Road You’ve Trod: Enhancing Law Enforcement in The Bahamas”.

He says his passion for storytelling began in childhood, shaped by personal experiences, including the tragic loss of his two-year-old brother.

These moments inspired him to document his journey.

Bootle adds that many of his early life experiences played a pivotal role in his 40 year career with the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

The new book, he believes, will help the next generation of leaders, especially those within the Royal Bahamas Police Force, as there have been lots of challenges recently.

The book is available at Bellevue Books and gifts in Freeport and on Amazon.
