UNITED STATES OF AMERICA – A team of imaging experts, scientists, and historians expected to sail to the titanic on Friday to create the most detailed photographic record of the wreck.

The BBC gained exclusive access to the expedition in Providence, Rhode Island.

This marks the first commercial mission since last year’s oceangate tragedy, where five men died.

A memorial service at sea will honor them and the 1,500 who perished in 1912.

The expedition, led by RMS Titanic Inc., aims to capture millions of high-resolution photos and create a 3d model of the debris.
