UNITED STATES – U.S. President Donald Trump says he discussed Russian and Ukrainian requests and needs for a peace deal in an hour-long call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said much of the discussion was based on the call made yesterday with President Putin in order to align both Russia and Ukraine in terms of their requests and needs.

The conversation came a day after Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a 90-minute phone call to discuss the ongoing dispute between the European countries.

On the heels of those calls, Moscow and Kyiv exchanged prisoners of war today.

Authorites say 175 Ukrainian soldiers had been swapped for 175 Russian servicemen.

Moscow had handed over an additional 22 heavily wounded Ukrainian prisoners in need of urgent medical care.
