Two Men Charged with Killing Woman, Days After She Gave Birth

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men are facing charges in connection to a shooting that killed a 23-year-old woman, days after she gave birth to her third child.

Davan Brennen and Mario Stuart are charged murder and abetment to murder in relation to the January 26 murder of Phillerieria Sands.

Sands was shot when gunmen emerged from a silver SUV and fired multiple shots in a yard on Finlayson Street.

Sands was sitting in a car in the yard with her newborn.

Brennen  and Stuart didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

They were denied and bail and ordered to return to court on May 8 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
