HAITI – Haiti’s national police says tension and mistrust continues to persist in Haiti after seven police officers were killed over the last week in gang shootouts.

Prime Minister Ariel Henry’s residence also remained guarded by the police, after the murders sparked a wave of protests led by officers.

A Haitian human rights group said in a statement that 78 police officers had been killed since henry came to power in July 2021.

This as the United Nations is discussing sending a foreign strike force to confront the criminal groups.
