NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Unresolved pension issues, disagreements on medical benefits and disrespect, are just some of the things Bahamas Electrical Workers Union President, Kyle Wilson, lists as issues with Bahamas Power and Light leading the union to call a press conference, Monday

BEWU last signed an industrial agreement with BPL in September 2021, and a month earlier had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Progressive Liberal Party, just before the general election.

The press conference was attended by representatives from several unions, including the Bahamas Hotel Managerial Association, the Bahamas Electrical Utility Management Union, the Bahamas Nurses Union, Union of Public Officers, and the Bahamas General Workers Union.

When asked if industrial action is on the table, Wilson tells us “Everything is on the table,” but was hesitant to set a timeline.
