VIETNAM – A court in Vietnam handed the death sentence to real estate tycoon Truong My Lan for her role in a 12 point 5 billion dollar financial fraud.
VIETNAM – A court in Vietnam handed the death sentence to real estate tycoon Truong My Lan for her role in a 12 point 5 billion dollar financial fraud.
Lan, the chairwoman of a real estate development company, was found guilty of embezzlement, bribery and violations of banking rules at the end of a trial in Vietnam’s business hub Ho Chi Minh city, according to state media.
Her trial, which begun on March 5 and ended earlier than planned, was one dramatic result of a campaign against corruption.
