ARLINGTON, TEXAS – 2024 has been a breakout year for Texas Rangers prospect Sebastian Walcott.

The 18-year-old shortstop came into the season with high expectations as he was announced as the top prospect in the team’s system.  Walcott has lived up to those expectations, hitting .286 with 3 home runs and a .853 OPS in the month of June. For his stellar play, he was named to the Major League Futures All-Star game, which showcases every team’s top prospect in the minors.

Today it was announced that Walcott will be featured prominently in the game, starting at shortstop and hitting third in the batting order for the American League All-Stars, a slot reserved for a team’s best hitter.

The Futures game starts this afternoon at 4 PM Bahamas time on the MLB Network (Rev Channel 728) , MLB.com and the MLB app. Walcott is one of the most exciting prospects in baseball so you definitely don’t want to miss an opportunity to watch him play.
