NASSAU, BAHAMAS – While forecasters predicted more rain this week, few imagined we would encounter tornados. But the reality of wicked weather came with damage to homes and vehicles for some Golden Gates residents.

By all indications, Wednesday afternoon was clear and sunny – a welcome relief after a rainy holiday weekend.

But almost without warning, skies over New Providence produced some dangerous weather later in the day, especially in Golden Gates.

What appeared to be a small tornado, certainly packed a punch for these affected areas.

Karlica Robinson of William Drive wasn’t home, but saw the tornado forming from where she worked.

Now, the single mother finds herself temporarily staying with family.

Next door, Tessarina Moss is safe and sound, but finds herself stranded and in need of help after the tornado damaged her car.

The Acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper, and Golden Gates MP Pia Glover-Rolle, visited the area to view damage and speak with some of those affected.
