NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamasair is looking to raise its retirement age for pilots as the airline’s managing director says they’re expanding and more pilots will be needed.

In just a few weeks Bahamasair will increase its fleet.

But with a new aircraft calls for the need for more pilots, according to Managing Director Tracy Cooper.

In a local daily, it was reported that a number of Bahamasair pilots are set to retire next year which some say can lead to a pilot shortage.

Cooper is explaining management’s view on the situation.

And in order to meet the needs of the expansion he says the airline is looking at all avenues.

He adds that Bahamasair has over-experienced pilots
