10-Year Sentence for Man Who Impregnated 12-Year-Old Stepdaughter
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Nassau man was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for impregnating his 12-year-old stepdaughter after taking a plea deal.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Nassau man was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for impregnating his 12-year-old stepdaughter after taking a plea deal.
The Court heard that the 37-year-old man raped his wife’s daughter while she was at home with her younger siblings in August 2023.
The girl didn’t tell her mother about the sexual abuse because he threatened to kill her if she told anyone what he’d done.
The matter was reported to police last June after it was discovered she was pregnant.
The stepfather had unsuccessfully tried to induce an abortion by having the girl drink castor oil and Guinness.
He told the girl that he was going to take her to a doctor, but his actions were uncovered before that happened.
Following his release from prison, the man has to stay out of legal trouble for two years. A conviction during this period will result in a one-year jail sentence.
