NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With record-breaking tourist arrivals and a booming local scene, Arawak Cay has faced growing pressure to modernize its infrastructure.

The Ministry Of Agriculture and Marine Resources spearheaded the project in collaboration with the Water And Sewerage Corporation. 

Minister Jomo Campbell says the upgrades are already proving transformative.

The project was completed in two phases over the past year. It included a crucial upgrade to the sewer system and water mains, including a 10-inch gravity main. 

The Operations Manager at Arawak Cay, Leyvon Miller, providing details on the improvements.

Four 330 gallon IBC containment units were installed.

It will now allow vendors to dispose of up to 660 gallons of grease waste. 

The Arawak Cay fish and food vendors association has this strong message for possible offenders.
