HAITI – Eight confirmed cholera related deaths in Haiti raising concerns with local and international health officials that the country could be headed for another epidemic.

Nearly 10,000 people died in a cholera outbreak 10 years ago.

These are the first reported cholera deaths in 3 years. The United Nations is reportedly working with the Haitian government to mount an emergency response to this potential outbreak.

Contaminated food or water can lead to severe or even deadly diarrhea and dehydration

There is also a fear that earlier deaths have gone undetected.
