NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Central Bank recently announced its project to construct a new headquarters building downtown has been terminated. 

It’s been asked what exactly happened to the project and why was it terminated.

Governor John Rolle responded to a question from our Italia Hall.

Economic Affairs Minister Michael Halkitis telling Our News on Tuesday that from his understanding the project has been postponed, not canceled.

Rolle says they do have long term needs for accommodations and that effort is ongoing.

The governor also spoke further to the issue.

As for whether here where any loses associated with project

While the governor could not provide more information on a new headquarters at this time, he says they will construct a cash center in the south western part of New Providence, sometime this year.
