NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Davis administration hoping to make The Bahamas an international arbitration center.

The economic affairs minister revealing as much today as senators debated two arbitration bills.

Kicking off debate on the Arbitration Amendment Bill 2023 and the International Commercial Arbitration Bill 2023, leader of government business in the senate Michael Halkitis stressing the importance of alternative dispute resolution.

Halkitis adding that international arbitration has become an important tool of economic development that is directly connected to the increase of economic growth through foreign direct investment.

He says the Davis administration intends to use the strength of the financial services industry to support the advancement of the alternative dispute resolution industry.
