Sands: Level Four Not Good For Business

The Bahamas once again bumped up to a level four on the United States Centers for Disease Control travel advisory list – a move the President of the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association says does not bode well for the industry.

What was supposed to be a year of economic rebound, getting off to a slow start due to rising Covid-19 levels in the country.

President of The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association, Robert Sands says the recent escalation to a level four on the CDC’s travel health advisory list means business, including vital group business, will likely be impacted.

This comes after The Bahamas enjoyed a brief period at a lower level two advisory just before the holiday season brought a spike in cases.

One hundred seventy-three new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday. Sands says he is hopeful the surge will subside soon, as the tourism industry works toward economic recovery.
