NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter in relation to a fatal collision that caused the death of Inspector Tomas McInstosh.

Prosecutors say 37-year-old Raymond Forbes is criminally responsible for McIntosh’s death.

The officer was conducting a traffic stop on the Sir Milo Butler Highway around 1pm on January 31 when prosecutors say he was struck by Forbes who was allegedly driving in a reckless manner.

Forbes didn’t have to enter a plea to the charge when he stood before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.

He was granted $10,000 bail with no other conditions.

Forbes returns to court on June 24 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
