BPL Working to Restore Power in Several Areas Across the Capital

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – BPL advises customers that a number of areas have been impacted by bad weather conditions.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Several areas on New Providence are still experiencing power outages and disruptions into Tuesday evening, due to weather conditions.

Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) has advised that residents and businesses in Coral Harbour, Kemp Road, Turnberry, Boatswain Hill, Gamble Heights, Airport Industrial Park, parts of Fox Hill and parts of Shirley Street were still affected Tuesday evening.

Earlier on Tuesday, BPL noted that a number of areas have been impacted by weather conditions including (but not limited to) Pinewood, Sea Breeze Blvd, South Beach, Coral Harbour, AIP , Gambier, Gladstone South, Fox Hill and Frank Edgecombe, Redland Acres, Blue Hill Road South near St. Vincent.

“Teams have been dispatched to address these outages,” BPL says.

“At this time, restoration time is unavailable. The interruptions are considered to be related to the weather conditions.”

Islands in the northwestern Bahamas were placed under severe weather warnings, Tuesday, as hurricane Ian moves toward the Florida Peninsula.
