NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A recent audit revealed that staff members at The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute were overpaid by some $100,000 between October 2019 and July 2020.

The audit examined BTVI’s fiscal periods for the years 2018-2019, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

The audit also revealed that employees whose contracts had already expired were still working without new contracts.

The institution’s Interim President, Dr. Linda Davis says there is a new board in place that is currently reviewing that report and will provide a formal communication in the coming weeks.
