OXFORD, USA – Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin and her University of Mississippi Rebels women’s basketball squad had a tough out in the second game of their conference schedule as they found themselves matched up against defending champs, the number 7-ranked Louisiana State University Tigers.

Ole Miss Loses to the Defending Champs, 84-73

OXFORD, USA – Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin and her University of Mississippi Rebels women’s basketball squad had a tough out in the second game of their conference schedule as they found themselves matched up against defending champs, the number 7-ranked Louisiana State University Tigers. 

The Rebels gave the Tigers everything they could handle in the early running, exchanging leads until deep into the second quarter when the Tigers went on a run to end the half up 50-37. 

Mississippi went on a furious run, managing to tie the game with 5 minutes left but the Tigers would pull away once and for all, putting the game away in the 4th.

Marquesha Davis scored 24 to lead Ole Miss, grabbing 7 rebounds. Madison Scott had 13 points and ran the Rebels’ offense to the tune of 8 assists.

Angel Reese led the Tigers with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and freshman sensation Mikaylah Williams contributed 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.

Coach Yo and the Rebels’ last win came on January 4th against Alabama, they’ll have a chance to get back in the win column on Thursday when they play another Alabama school in Auburn.
