NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to a string of thefts at the Atlantis resort.

Robert Collie, 44, had been behind bars since April before he finally admitted to stealing property worth $4,096.36 from the hotel.

Given his extensive criminal record, Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain imposed a sentence of 10 months in prison with effect from today.

On March 23 of this year, Collie stole three flat screen televisions, valued at $3,900.36, from cabanas on the resort.

A month later, he broke into the Pisces Restaurant and stole 28 cans of beer, with a retail value of $196.

On April 6, Collie attempted to steal a 55-inch flat screen TV, worth $1,300.12.

He dropped the TV and ran into bushes after encountering security.
