Appeal Rejected For Man Convicted Of Assaulting Niece

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Court of Appeal has upheld the indecent assault conviction of a man who put his hand between his niece’s legs.

The 31-year-old man, who can not be identified, went into the 14-year-old’s bedroom and inappropriately touched her on July 6, 2020.

The girl immediately reported the assault to her mother, who kicked her brother out of the house and reported the incident to police.He was sentenced to one year in prison in April of this year following a trial before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.
