NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Davis administration has yet to set a date for the rollout of bi-monthly payments for public service workers.

While preparations are ongoing, Labour and Public Service minister Pia Glover-Rolle says technical training and consultations must be completed before a launch can be finalized.

Public servants expecting to receive semi-monthly payments will have to wait a little longer, as no official date has been set for the rollout.

The Ministry of Finance will be responsible for determining when the new system takes effect.

Minister of Labour and Public service Pia Glover-Rolle says the transition remains in progress, but final details are still being worked out.

The labour minister says a survey was distributed to gauge interest in the payment change. Glover-Rolle adds the bi-monthly payment option is voluntary.

But there’s only one hold up according to the minister.

“We will continue to talk to the stakeholders. One more congress that we need to meet with and once we’ve done that, then we’ll have an analysis, Glover-Rolle said.
