Parents Arraigned After Four-Year-Old Found Dead In Bathtub

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A mother and father have been arraigned in connection with the death of their four-year-old son.

You may recall on March 5, police said the toddler was left unattended in a bathtub and was found with visible injuries in a home on McKinney Drive.

Faydeen Aspinal faced one count of manslaughter by negligence for the death of Kamari Aspinal.

She also faced one count of abuse where it is alleged that the incidents took place between July 2023 and December 2023 and again between January 2024 and March 5, 2024.

The child’s father – Aubert Cunningham – was charged with failing to report the abuse.

The parents appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans where they were not required to enter pleas to their charges…

The mother’s bail was set at $10,000 while the father’s bail was set at $5,000.

They will return to court on June 10 for a voluntary bill of indictment.
