Prince Edward and Countess Sophie To Visit Nassau

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prince Edward, The Earl of Wessex and Forfar, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Forfar will be visiting Nassau on February 23 to 24, 2023.

During their visit, their Royal Highnesses will attend a Gold Award Ceremony for The Governor General’s Youth Award (GGYA) – formerly known as the Bahamas Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. 

In addition, as Prince Edward is Chair of The Duke Of Edinburgh’s International Awards Foundation and the Foundation has funded five Special Projects in The Bahamas, their Royal Highnesses will visit three of the five projects between them. 

During their visit they will meet and engage with volunteers and individuals currently participating in the GGYA.

In addition to meeting with The Governor General, His Excellency Sir Cornelius A. Smith, GCMG, their Royal Highnesses will also meet Prime Minister Philip Davis and other government officials.
