NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It is a message as old as time: Early detection is the best protection. The president of the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Group shares how the community can join forces for survivors.

According to World Cancer Research Fund International, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the world. And, President of Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group President, Andrea Sweeting says the numbers are rising right here at home.

Sweeting says the group provides free medical support to those battling breast cancer and, any financial donations will be used to provide the necessary supplies.

During the month of october, the group aims to raise as much awareness as possible. 

She says although she understands some women may feel depressed after a diagnoses, the Sister Sister group is here to help others through their journey.
