UNITED STATES – Olympians Devynne Charlton, Denisha Cartwright, and Charisma Taylor delivered strong performances as they look to build off their historic feat in 2024.

In the women’s 60m hurdles at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York, Charlton and Cartwright both appeared in the loaded international field.

On Saturday, Charlton finished second overall with a time of 7.96 seconds while Cartwright posted a season’s best 8.17 seconds to finish seventh overall, continuing her early-season build-up in one of the sports most competitive events.

Charlton is of course no stranger to the Millrose games.

In 2024, she made history at the meet by setting a world record of 7.65 seconds, cementing her status as one of the event’s most dominant performers in recent years.

The third hurdles olympian from Paris – Charisma Taylor, opened her season at the Bob Pollock Invitational in South Carolina and finished second in the 60m hurdles in 8.06 seconds.

Bahamians Continue Early Indoor Season Success

Bahamians continued to make their mark on the NCAA Division I indoor track and field scene over the weekend, turning in several top-tier performances at meets across the United States.

At the Jack Johnson Classic in Minnesota, Minnesota Golden Gophers’ Zion Campbell continue his early season dominance in the 60m.

He clocked 6.59 seconds to set both a facility record and a meet record.

It marked Campbell’s second 60m win of the season after posting the same time at the M City Classic.

In Arkansas, Florida Gators’ Wanya McCoy took first place in the men’s 200m at the Razorback Invitational, stopping the clock in 20.50 seconds.

McCoy has built a strong indoor resume during his time with the Florida Gators, including SEC championship success and multiple NCAA-level performances.

At the Bob Pollock Invitational in South Carolina, Javonya Valcourt of the Tennessee Volunteers opened her 400m campaign this season with a second-place finish in 51.73 seconds.

The time currently ranks fourth nationally and third-fastest time in Tennessee program history.

Earlier this season, Valcourt ran a personal best – 36.46 seconds in the 300m, ninth all-time in NCAA history.

Meanwhile, at the MEYO Invitational, DePaul sprinter Demetrius Rolle finished second in the men’s 60m, posting a time of 6.78 seconds.
