NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Hurricane Ian bringing heavy winds and rain to Florida today. The wild weather causing flight cancellations and delays at Lynden Pindling International on Wednesday morning.

Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Development for Nassau Development Company Ltd. Jan Knowles confirming that several flights were canceled. Most were destined for South Florida.

When the Our News team visited LPIA, the flight information display system showed that American Airlines, Jet Blue, Bahamasair and Delta all had cancelled or delayed flights.

An airline agent telling Our News that most passengers received cancellation messages and emails on their cellphones before the departure time, and as a result, did not show up at the airport.

Our News caught up with Bill Jackson from Nebraska who says his journey to The Bahamas was smooth but he is concerned about Florida.
