NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On this day in Bahamian history in 2012 , while then Prime Minister Perry Christie met with Cable and Wireless executives to discuss the prospect of government regaining majority control of BTC, former President and CEO Leon Williams took a stab at the company as he questioned its intentions for The Bahamas.

Then in 2015 – Philip Davis who was then deputy prime minister declared he was ready for the job of prime minister.

It came two days after then Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe signaled his intentions to lead the Progressive Liberal Party once then leader and prime minister Perry Christie stepped down.

Then June 23rd, 2016 following the swearing-in ceremony of then Free National Movement Senators Dr. Duane Sands and Monique Gomez. Former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham addressed questions about a possible return to frontline politics.

This as the party was preparing for convention.

And finally in 2022 Prime Minister Philip Davis continued to champion the cause for climate change at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Rwanda.
