NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Tourism arrivals skyrocketed in 2022, signaling a return to pre-pandemic numbers. And the tourism minister predicts an even better year in 2023.

Last year was another record setting year for tourism in The Bahamas, as more than 7 million visitors came to the country. Tourism Minister Chester Cooper thanking stakeholders for the collective effort, as the only other time The Bahamas has seen these numbers was back in 2019.

The lion’s share of those visitors were cruise passengers, and Cooper says as the Nassau Cruise Port prepares for its grand opening in May, he hopes it is a driver for the redevelopment of Bay Street.
