NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After a month of showcasing uniquely Bahamian music, food and culture, the Goombay Summer Festival wrapped up last weekend.

The event, which returned after a 10-year hiatus made a grand return on July 28th.

And while this year’s summer festival has come to an end.

General Manager of Cultural and Authentic Events Nicola Reid-Simmons says they’re already making plans for next year.

The Goombay Summer Festival has been held on Family Islands in the past ten years.

This year it also returned to Exuma, Eleuthera, Grand Bahama, North and Central Andros, South Andros, Bimini, the Berry Islands, Cat Island, Long Island, and San Salvador.

Vendors at the festival in New Providence say they were delighted to be a part of the event this year.
