NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bishop Simeon Hall is no stranger when it comes to speaking out on national issues. Now, he’s calling on Bahamians living illegally in the United States to return home before it’s too late.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bishop Simeon Hall is no stranger when it comes to speaking out on national issues. Now, he’s calling on Bahamians living illegally in the United States to return home before it’s too late.
Over the weekend, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security ramped up its efforts to convince immigrants without legal status to self-deport.
The Trump administration even placed ads on tv and online as well as created an app to help undocumented migrants to leave the U.S.
With the U.S. ramping up enforcement of immigration laws, Bishop Hall says he’s concerned about the fate of Bahamians who’ve overstayed.
His comments come after a Bahamian woman living in Florida for over 10 years is now being detained by us immigration for overstaying her time.
Bishop Hall says he understands the economic challenges some may face upon returning but insists that home is still the best option.
