Canada is ranked fifth in the world, and fans are expecting a loud and energized home crowd as The Bahamas looks to pull off an upset. The national team wrapped up its final practice session last night. Officials say the roster is ready, and the players are asking for strong support from the stands.

Road to Qatar Begins

Tonight’s matchup is the first of several important games in Group B, which also includes Puerto Rico and Jamaica. Team Bahamas will face Canada again on December 1 for the away leg of the home and away series.

Next spring, The Bahamas will play two road games. The team will face Jamaica on February 26, followed by a tough matchup against Puerto Rico on March 1.

The final stretch of the qualifying round will take place next summer with two home games on July 3 against Puerto Rico and July 6 against Jamaica.

To advance, The Bahamas must finish among the top three teams in Group B. Seven teams from across the Americas will qualify for the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar.
