Deandre Ayton Prevails in the Battle of Bahamian NBA Players

PHOENIX, USA – Deandre Ayton and his Phoenix Suns withstood a barrage from all-time great Stephen Curry, Wednesday night, as they beat the Warriors 130-119.

The teams kept the score close in the first quarter, however, the Suns would finish the half up 72-65. The Suns would open up a bigger lead in the 3rd quarter finishing the period up 103-89. The Warriors would mount a comeback bid in the 4th getting the score to 105-97 before the Suns eventually pulled away.

Bahamian center Deandre Ayton finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds while Klay Thompson continues his slow shooting start, finishing with 19 points on 6-17 shooting.

Steph Curry of the Warriors continues his meteoric scoring streak to go along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Suns backup point guard Cameron Payne filled in admirably for perennial all-star Chris Paul scoring 29 points and dishing out 7 assists. 

Ayton and the Suns take on the Utah Jazz Thursday, while Thompson and the Dubs will play the Knicks.
