Chisholm Hits A Grand Slam To Keep The Marlins in The Playoff Race

MIAMI, FLORIDA – Miami Marlins Jazz Chisholm kept his team’s playoff hopes alive yesterday when he launched a 428 foot home run into the stands in deep right centerfield last night with the bases loaded.

The Grand slam came in the bottom of the 8th inning after Jake Burger hit a two-run shot of his own to put the Marlins up. Jazz’s home run would put the game away decisively for the Marlins.

Jazz finished the night 2-3 with two walks and a single. All for of his RBI on the night came off the grand slam. He also showcased his blazing speed on the bags, swiping three bases in the game. Then he celebrated because somehow he could still stand up after doing all that.

Jazz’s heroics brought the Marlins within a half game from a wild card slot, giving them separation from Antoan Richardson’s San Francisco Giants who fall to 2.5 games out.

The Marlins have a chance to get in a wildcard slot tomorrow if they can manage to beat the Braves again and the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds or Arizona D-Backs lose.
