NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Amid talks of a shift coming for Bahamas Power and Light, the Bahamas Electrical Workers Union President says frustration and pandemonium is rampant.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Amid talks of a shift coming for Bahamas Power and Light, Bahamas Electrical Workers Union President Kyle Wilson says frustration and pandemonium is rampant at the power company.
He claims it’s like nothing he’s ever seen before.
Wilson claims Energy Minister Jobeth Coleby-Davis made a presentation that revealed the intention to bring in a foreign company to run BPL’s transmission and distribution system.
Wilson claims the only thing in the presentation that spoke to a labour force is plans for workers to be seconded for training.
The union believes they should’ve been more informed in the process.
The Electrical Workers Union will hold a meeting tonight at 6 pm to chart the way forward.
The Electrical Managerial Union says they too find themselves in a bundle of uncertainty. His union has already had a meeting on the matter.
