NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On this day in 2012, Progressive Liberal Party and Free National Movement supporters had a showdown in the straw market.

This came after a press conference by PLP leaders, who toured the facility after some vendors complained about structural problems, inoperable restrooms and stall assignments.

On this day in 2020, then-Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis made his first national address on the novel coronavirus which would weeks later lead to a nationwide lockdown.

One year later on this day in 2021, the first doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered, and the first jab was given to Nurse Ruth Bastian.

Then Prime Minister Dr. Hubert minister was among those who were vaccinated.
