NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police have been busy waging a war on crime. But how successful have their efforts been so far this year?

When it comes to murders. There have been 38 so far this year. That’s compared to the 30 recorded during the same period last year.

Police Commissioner Clayton Fernander releasing the statistics at an office of the Prime Minister press briefing this morning.

Fernander also revealed that armed robberies have declined significantly. He adds businesses are becoming more common targets

Despite the drop, police warning residents not the let their guards down.
