U.S.A. – It’s a pivotal upcoming senior season for Deyton Albury as he makes the transition to a new program for the second time in two years.

In the off-season, Albury transferred to the Utah State Aggies in the Mountain West Conference and headlines the first class under new head coach Jerrod Calhoun.

The Aggies come off a season where they claimed the Mountain West regular season championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

They finished the season no.22 in the AP Poll and no.20 in the coaches poll.

Albury had his first opportunity to play with the team during their foreign tour throughout Croatia in August.

In his lone season at the Division I level with the Queen’s University Royals, Albury was named A-Sun newcomer of the year and an All-Conference third team selection.

In 30 games, he averaged 17.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game

In the offseason, Albury was one of three current collegiate players named to the senior men’s national team roster for the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament.

Baseball

Texas Rangers prospect Sebastian Walcott has been even better than advertised at the plate in double-a baseball and finally got his opportunity to debut in the field.

Walcott and the Frisco Roughriders are in the midst of a playoff battle in the Double-A Texas League.

They defeated the Midland Rockhounds 4-3 last night at riders in game two of the Texas League south division series.

The third and deciding game is tonight, with first pitch at 8:05 pm local time.

Off the field, Walcott was also named a South Atlantic League all star for the breakout season he had in high-a with the Hickory Crawdads.

In 118 Games, he hit .261 with a .785 ops, and slugging .443 with 10 home runs, 49 RBI and 26 stolen bases.

He led the South Atlantic League with 50 extra base hits, including a league leading nine triples.
