NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Convicted killer Mark Anthony Capron remains behind bars after the Court of Appeal refused his bid to challenge his conviction for a second time.

Capron is serving a 50-year sentence for the 2001 shooting murder of Andrew Simms, also known as Half-a-Man, at Johnson Alley.

His first challenge to his conviction was rejected in 2013.

Ten years later, Capron asked the court to reopen his appeal, claiming that his lawyer didn’t fully argue his case.

But Court of Appeal President Sir Michael Barnett said that there has to be finality in litigation.

Barnett said the matter was considered closed and Capron had not provided a reason for the court to reopen the appeal.
