NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Detective Corporal Takeia Harvey is no stranger to the Crime Scene Investigation Unit; she’s been working here for years so she knows just what it takes to do the job.

Their roles are vital to policing because they gather and preserve evidence, which is crucial for identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting criminals.

Bottom line – it’s not a 9-5 job.

Harvey says every officer assigned to the CSI has a passion for what they do as work days can stretch on for hours.

She says it’s why the unit is also close knit.

“We live as a family in here,” she said. “When one person is down we pick the next person up.”
