UNITED STATES – As The Bahamas celebrates fifty-one years of independence, we reflect on a journey filled with triumphs and challenges.

Many remarkable Bahamians have played pivotal roles in propelling our nation forward. Jasper Ward is one of them. She’s a Bahamian journalist now working in the United States and is featured in Our TV’s upcoming Independence Special “Emerging Bahamians,” airing in July.

Quintessentially Bahamian, she epitomizes excellence in journalism. Jasper Ward, who not long ago stood alongside local journalists, has ascended to the role of a reporter at Reuters in Washington, D.C. This significant achievement underscores her impressive journalistic skills.

Though she is adjusting to the demands of American journalism, she confides that she deeply misses the camaraderie she shared with her colleagues back home.

Renowned for her fearless questioning, Ward took a moment to reflect on 51 years of Bahamian independence and passionately shared why everyone should experience the magic of The Bahamas at least once.
