NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The visionary designer behind Remilda Rose Designs and breast cancer survivor, Gillian Curry-Williams is adding a new accomplishment under her belt.

She’s the grand prize winner of the Small Business Development Centers’ cultural evolution pitch competition.

Last week, Curry-Williams traded the runway to take the stage and collect her $10,000 prize.

The competition allowed contestants to showcase their creative business idea, gain exposure and compete for the grand prize, plus 12 months of mentorship and more.

So what helped the Remilda Rose owner to edge out her competition?

Her fabric – the Hope Collection which she says is inspired by cancer warriors while also promoting Bahamian culture through bold prints.

And the Bahamian fashion designer says she couldn’t have done it on her own. She’s thankful to the SBDC for allowing her to showcase her talent.

She’s also grateful to her family who supported her along the way.

As Curry-Williams continues to turn her passion into a platform for cultural and personal empowerment, she says she has no plans on slowing down anytime soon.
